Description of works:
This scheme was for the design, construction and commissioning of a new waste transfer building and associated infrastructure works at Hinckley Service Station. Works included: • Discharge planning conditions relating to water drainage & attenuation works • Temporary works to the existing waste transfer area operational • Breakout and reconstruct failed areas of the existing concrete pavement • Provide new weighbridge foundation and ramps • External and internal alterations and improvements to office and building • New waste transfer station building • Extension to concrete pavements • Surface water drainage system to the entire site area • Increase width of the vehicular access area over the high pressure gas pipeline • Relocation of existing fuel facility into a self contained area • Relocation of vehicle washing facility with new recycling unit and enclosure • CCTV security system and perimeter flood lighting • Traffic management system with road marking, signage, traffic lights etc • Distribution of utilities (electricity, water, sewage, gas, telecommunications etc.) • Soil/ground preparation and implementing the planting and landscaping scheme • Highways improvement works (visibility splays) • Realignment of existing palisade fencing • Removal of trees an vegetation adjacent to A5
