Description of works:
The project entails the construction of footpaths, walkways and boardwalks along and in the River Darenth. The new infrastructure will be built within existing bridges and large culverts so as to avoid large detours and busy road crossings by pedestrians, cyclists and persons of restricted mobility.
At Millpond Road the works entail:
• Construction of steel framed timber clad cantilevered walkway through the existing culvert under the railway leading onto Mill Pond Road
• Footpath works at both ends of the culvert
• Low level lighting installation
• Construction of timber access ramp to existing walkway
• Planting works
The works at Princes Road is improvements in and around the existing lake and consists of:
• Construction of a reinforced brick clad water retaining weir
• Construction of a 'sureset' surfaced footpath
• Construction of reinforced concrete invert through the western of the existing twin culverts passing under Princes Road
• Construction of a Steel framed timber boardwalk structure
• Lighting and CCTV installation
• Remedial works to existing pathways
• Planting works
