Description of works:
This is our seventh package of works on the Olympic site at Stratford.
The project entails the construction of permanent roads to the north access road, Station Road, First Avenue, Station Plaza and the southern access road to serve the new Westfield Shopping Centre. These works are due to be completed in 15 phases.
This site is in a very tight and busy environment working along side many other contractors. In addition all travelling to and from the site must be via public transport as there is no parking on site.
All materials coming on to the site have to be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Therefore a lot more planning and organisation skills are required than at most other sites. Daily briefings also take place for all contractors on the site together with logistics and safety meetings
Works include -
• Placing gullies, sub base and temporary kerbs
• Place Asphalt to underside of surface course
• Place final layer of asphalt
