Training Centre
Breheny has its own CPCS accredited training centre and a team of fully qualified and accredited CPCS and NVQ instructors and assessors.
The centre is also an accredited centre for NVQs in Construction Operations and Plant Operations awarded by Constructionskills and City & Guilds.
CSCS Health and Safety Awareness training is provided for all site staff who then go on to take the Constructionskills Health & Safety test which is essential for CSCS cards.
The Training Department designs courses to suit the future needs of the workforce and the requirements of our contracts. These can take the form of in-house courses or externally sourced specialist training programmes. Wherever possible the training is to a nationally recognized standard and includes such subjects as Fire Training, Fire Marshall training, First Aid, SMSTS and NRSWA, and Asbestos awareness training.
Our objective is for every site operative to have a minimum of:
- CSCS
- Safety Awareness
- Dumper Permit to operate
- Roller Permit to operate
- Training to Use and Change Abrasive Wheels
Job-specific training is given where required, along with briefings and workshops. In addition we promote and encourage personal and career development, and support staff who wish to undertake personal training in areas outside their normal scope of work.
The Training Centre works closely with the Video Production unit to produce in house instructional videos including Inductions, Toolbox Talks and specialist subject videos. All videos star Breheny personnel on real Breheny sites to add realism and interest to their content.
