In contrast to most construction companies J Breheny Contractors Ltd has not developed into a management company solely reliant upon external subcontractors and service providers. Instead it has chosen to invest its profits in the development of its staff and a comprehensive, modern plant fleet, which ensures close project control, quality reliability and retained knowledge.
Staff
All current site staff are registered under the CSCS Scheme with all new employees registered within two weeks of employment. Wherever possible new employees already hold CSCS registration. All plant operatives are trained to CPCS Standards.
Breheny is an Investor in People with its own training centre. As well as regular courses in Health and Safety procedures, careers development, plant operations and new technologies, specialist training is also carried out for site staff operating in unusual conditions such as confined spaces or dust-free environments.
Plant
The Company maintains an extensive modern plant fleet to service its construction projects. Comprising some 3,000 individual items the fleet improves efficiency, cost and quality certainty and extends our range of operations. The fleet is stored at depots in Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Kent and is regularly pooled and transferred between locations to meet regional requirements. Purpose built workshops, with qualified fitters, provide routine servicing, maintenance and repair.
In addition to construction plant, the Company maintains a comprehensive stock of surveying instruments.
